Kiss in the Rain

White Nights, children sleep at home so deep,
We take each other's hand and wander free.
Through streets and courtyards all night long we roam,
Till dawnlight paints the sky in silver seams.

Summer Garden waits beneath the dawn,
As always in this city, rain comes soft and warm.
Under ancient linden, centuries old,
Kissing through the downpour, stories yet untold.

Her dress clings wet, a silhouette so fine,
Girl-like figure glowing in the rain.
I try to shield her, pull her close to me,
But she laughs wild, a naughty girl set free.

I watch her joy, can't hold back my own smile,
Laughter mixes with the warm rain's song.
We kick off shoes, walk barefoot home through miles,
Splashing puddles, where our young hearts belong.

White Nights, children sleep at home so deep...
Summer rain in Petersburg will keep...
Under ancient linden, forever we stand,
Kissing through the rain, hand in loving hand...
