Christmas Night s Sweet Magic

The Christmas day draws near, so slow,
With twinkling lights and falling snow.
We deck the tree with silver bright,
And wait for Santa’s sleigh in flight.

A kindly man with magic hands,
Who knows if we obeyed commands.
For those who’ve been both good and true,
He leaves a gift in red and blue.

The house is clean, the lanterns glow,
Their golden light soft as a bow.
We’ll tuck in tight and close our eyes,
And dream of morning’s sweet surprise.

At dawn we’ll rush with laughter clear,
To find what miracles appear -
Beneath the tree, a wondrous sight,
Each gift more dazzling than the light.

Mom winks at Dad, they share a glance,
They “know” they saw old Santa dance!
They thanked him with a grateful cheer,
And warmed him up with grog so dear.

Oh, Christmas night, so full of grace,
Where dreams take flight and wishes race.
Oh, Christmas night, the stars align,
To spin our hopes in gold and twine.

Just whisper soft what you hold dear,
And magic bends its ear to hear.
The year ahead will brightly shine,
With memories sweet as mulled children's wine.
