Children of Love
Are especially happy—in its glow, its warmth so true.
To them, love knows no delay, no pause at all,
For heavens won't reveal how many days we're granted through.
Give them your love without reserve or end,
Share the wisdom of peoples, fathers, and ancient kin.
Teach them to love God—the light within,
Themselves as a gift, and neighbors as dreams begin.
Show them the world vast and colorful like a river in flood,
Walk old streets, light up the courtyards deep and dim.
In every dead-end, an exit; in every dark, a dawn's bud—
Teach them to be bright, kind, like morning's hymn.
But whisper: goodness has fists—strong as earth's deep root,
So they stand firm in storms, in battles for the right.
Love them unbound, raise them as true Humans—pure, astute,
And in their eyes eternity will spark, outlasting night.
