Shadows

All of us have shadows following behind. 
They're always lingering in the back of any mind. 
Someone runs, another tries to start a fight. 
All these shadows force us to leave our lives aside. 

Faceless creatures, they keep changing size and form, 
Very hard to fight with something that transforms. 
Stand your ground and face the darkest of all storms. 
Dreams like roses are protected by sharp thorns.

We are made of scars, we're stitched up and deformed, 
Living lives inside our zones that give comfort. 
We're afraid of exploring any sort.

Numb to other people and to our hearts, 
This is where and when the darkness slowly starts. 
It gradually seeps through all of our guards. 
Shadows grow like tentacles with best regards.
