Сегодня открыла Псалтырь на кафисме пятнадцать -
105-й псалом, и блаженный Феодорит
Там пишет, что про евреев грехи и мытарства,
За что их отвергнул Господь и наказывал их.

Не вняли они чудесам Его в страшном Египте,
Не слушали слов Моисея, разбили его,
От брата его Аарона - Тельцу поклонились,
Блудили и падали - Бог и рассеял народ.

И так же любой человек и народ может быть Им отвержен,
Об этом писал и для русских святой Иоанн,
Поэтому внемлем себе, не упасть чтобы в бездны
Греха, чтоб опять не лишил Бог, разрушив наш храм.

Today I have opened the Psalter Kathisma 15, Psalm
105, and before it Blessed Theodoret
writes about the sins and the wanderings of Hebrew people,
For which God rejected them, punished them, took His salvation.

For they did not heed to His miracles in awful Egypt,
Did not listen to their Moses, and he broke his scriptures,
From his brother Aaron, they worshiped the Calf, they committed
adultery and fell into sin—and he scattered the people.

And likewise, God may reject any man and any nation.
And Saint John was writing about this for the Russians, too.
Therefore, let's be vigilant, lest we fall into the bathos
of sin, lest God deprives us, destroy our temple in doom.
