Two women who died in a collision in Pleasley have been named.

The collision, involving a Vauxhall Meriva and a Suzuki Alto, occurred in Common Lane at around 6.20am on Thursday 27 November.

The driver and passenger of the Suzuki were pronounced dead at the scene. They have now been named as Amie Pearson, 26, who was the driver, and Chelsea Carlisle, 29, who was the passenger.


Derbyshire Police said:

‘Their families are aware and our thoughts remain with them.

‘A nine-year-old boy who was also in the Suzuki suffered serious life changing injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains.

‘Three men who were in the Vauxhall were also injured, two of them seriously.

‘An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Due to the injuries he sustained in the collision he was taken to hospital where he remains.

‘We remain keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, as well as anyone who has any information.

Two women who died in a collision in Pleasley have been named.

The collision, involving a Vauxhall Meriva and a Suzuki Alto, occurred in Common Lane at around 6.20am on Thursday 27 November.

The driver and passenger of the Suzuki were pronounced dead at the scene. They have now been named as Amie Pearson, 26, who was the driver, and Chelsea Carlisle, 29, who was the passenger.

A nine-year-old boy who was also in the Suzuki suffered serious life changing injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains.

Three men who were in the Vauxhall were also injured, two of them seriously.

An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Due to the injuries he sustained in the collision he was taken to hospital where he remains.

Two women who died in a crash that also left a nine-year-old boy with life-changing injuries have been named.

Amie Pearson, 26, and Chelsea Carlisle, 29, were travelling in a Suzuki Alto with the boy when it was involved in a crash with a Vauxhall Meriva in Pleasley, on the Derbyshire-Nottinghamshire border, at about 06:20 GMT on Thursday.

Three men who were in the other car were also hurt, with two taken to hospital with serious injuries.

An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene in Common Lane on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in hospital.

The road was shut between the A617 and Meadow Lane while emergency services worked at the scene.

Fire crews from stations in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire attended.

Two women in their 20s have died in a crash that also left a nine-year-old boy with life-changing injuries.

A further three men, who were travelling in a second car involved in the crash in Pleasley, on the Derbyshire-Nottinghamshire border, at about 06:20 GMT on Thursday suffered injuries, with two in a serious condition, Derbyshire Police said.

An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene in Common Lane on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, before being taken to hospital due to injuries he sustained in the crash.

Police have asked for witnesses who saw the two cars involved, a Suzuki Alto and Vauxhall Meriva, to make contact.

The force said the women's families "are aware and our thoughts are with them".

The road was shut between the A617 and Meadow Lane while emergency services worked at the scene.

Fire crews from stations in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire were also sent to the scene.

The road remained closed into Thursday afternoon with drivers asked to find alternative routes

TWO women who tragically died in a horror smash between two cars have been pictured – after a teenager was arrested.

Amie Pearson, 26, and Chelsea Carlisle, 29, were sadly killed in the crash – which also left a nine-year-old boy with life-changing injuries.

Emergency crews were scrambled to the collision in Pleasley, Derbyshire, shortly after 6am on Thursday, November 27.

An 18-year-old was arrested at the scene on Common Lane on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Amie, the driver, was travelling with Chelsea and the nine-year-old boy in a Suzuki Alto when they collided with a Vauxhall Meriva.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the pair were tragically declared dead at the scene.

A fundraiser has been launched to support the family of one of the victims who was killed in a crash in Pleasley.

The incident occurred on Common Lane in the village, which is located near Mansfield, on the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire border, at around 6.20am on Thursday, November 27.

The collision involved a Vauxhall Meriva and a Suzuki Alto and the driver and passenger of the Suzuki were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims were previously named by Derbyshire Constabulary as 26-year-old Amie Pearson, who was driving the car, and as 29-year-old mum Chelsea Carlisle, who was a passenger in the Suzuki.

A nine-year-old boy in the Suzuki suffered serious, life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital.

Three men in the Vauxhall were also injured, two of them seriously, and an 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A fundraising page has now been launched to support the funeral costs for Ms Carlisle, as well as her family, following her death.

The fundraiser, signed by Ms Carlisle's wife, parents and extended family, reads: "It is with the deepest regret and heartbreaking loss that we as a family announce the tragic death of our beautiful and beloved Chelsea Carlisle.

"Chelsea sadly lost her life in the road traffic collision that occurred on the 27/11 on Common Lane in Pleasley.

"This fundraiser has been set up to help give our precious Chelsea the send-off she deserves.

"This will also help support her loving wife, Georgia, and their precious son, Reuben, with finding a home, necessities and dealing with everything that comes from such a devastating loss.

"We as a family appreciate all of the support the community are giving and we will be eternally grateful.

"We love you Chelsea, and we all miss you so much."
