Rain Dance

Though sun is hidden from my window now,
And sky is veiled in shawls of cloudy gray,
In every raindrop falling on the bough,
I see a golden light that finds its way.

Though heavy clouds are hanging over us,
And wind is tearing off the final leaf,
I warm my hands beside the fire thus,
And hear the rain drum out its soft relief.

And in the rhythm of this gentle sound,
That beats on windowpanes and rooftops near,
My soul will never walk a lonely ground,
For tender words still echo, true and clear.

And if I take my umbrella to roam,
And feel the cool drops touching on my face,
The wind will guide me through familiar home,
And joy will spring from its unending space.

For all the dear ones, all I hold so close,
For those who cross my path by simple chance,
May my own light dispel their heap of woes,
And give their souls a moment to advance.

For happiness is not the sun above,
But in the flame that burns inside of you.
So share your rays with everyone you love,
And give the gift of joy, sincere and true.

Through puddles walking, seeing skies reflected,
Where tears and joy are woven and connected,
Each drop becomes a rhythm, pure and whole,
A shining song that lifts and heals the soul.

Through evening’s gray, a brilliant light appears,
An answer in the heart that calms all fears.
Let this rain dance wash every darkened trace,
And fill the world with hope, with love, with grace.
