The Chosen One
I can win what's never been won.
Meantime, life outside goes on
All around you. - Bob Dylan
I can do what's never been done,
I can win what's never been won,
I can be the chosen one.
Now, Dorian Gray, wake up and see
What you've surrounded yourself with.
The life you live
Has never been worth living.
You blame the authorities,
Rigged elections, dying children,
But you'll never be brave enough
To understand that the world
Is built on your example, not an opinion.
Propaganda of kindness, empathy, love,
Do you really think those kittens
You once drowned really deserved it?
When you slapped your father for screaming
At you drunk, did that pathetic little child
Really deserved it?
But we like lies, we like to fake,
We like to see jealousy in people's eyes
When we boast about something we've never had.
You said you want to travel the world
Well, I guess you can.
If only you stopped lying on the sofa after work,
Because you will always be too old and too broke
To start something new, at all.
Our world's full of good opinions,
Pretty faces and sexy bikinis,
But and honest, open heart asking for truth,
And a looking for liberty, genius mind -
These two things comprise my youth.
Maybe that's why I can't find my tribe.
You can neglect my sick mind
And everything I write,
But you will never be able to hide
The truth from yourself.
Don't even try.
One day, just inflate your ballon,
Forget all the fuss,
Realize that death is something we all have to through
And follow your heart.
