Hymn to Kugu Yumo

A cycle of poems «Whispers of Mari El»

In the twilight’s embrace, where shadows softly weave,
We gather ‘round the ancient stones, in whispers we believe.
Kugu Yumo, spirit wild, guardian of the night,
With your strength, we call your name, and seek your guiding light.

Hail to Kugu Yumo, hear our fervent plea,
In the dance of the forest, set our spirits free.
With the howl of the wolves and the rustle of the leaves,
We honor you in unity, as the earth’s heart believes.

Through the misty valleys deep, where the sacred rivers flow,
Your essence breathes in every breeze, in the moon’s soft glow.
We raise our cups to the sky, and let our voices rise,
For in your arms, we find our strength, beneath these ancient skies.

Hail to Kugu Yumo, hear our fervent plea,
In the dance of the forest, set our spirits free.
With the howl of the wolves and the rustle of the leaves,
We honor you in unity, as the earth’s heart believes.

From the ashes of our ancestors, their wisdom we reclaim,
In the firelight, we remember, each soul a flickering flame.
Through the trials and tribulations, we stand hand in hand,
With Kugu Yumo at our side, united we will stand.

As the stars begin to shimmer, and the night wraps us tight,
We feel your presence all around, a beacon in the night.
With every heartbeat echoing, we pledge our loyalty true,
Kugu Yumo, hear our song; we sing our hymn to you.

Hail to Kugu Yumo, hear our fervent plea,
In the dance of the forest, set our spirits free.
With the howl of the wolves and the rustle of the leaves,
We honor you in unity, as the earth’s heart believes.

So let this hymn resound through time, a bond that will not break,
In reverence and gratitude for every choice we make.
Kugu Yumo, guide us forth with courage in our hearts,
Together we will forge our fate; this journey never parts.
