Erased Memories
The memories that once did soothe and sever.
A heart now cleansed of love's old embers,
No more the pain, no more the tremors.
Each chapter closed with silent grace,
Erasing traces of a bygone place.
In solitude I find my face,
Reborn without a trace of disgrace.
So let the past be buried deep,
Its shadows cast into eternal sleep.
I'll walk this path both wide and steep,
With nothing left to weep or keep.
For in forgetting lies my peace,
Where every wound finds its release.
And though the journey brings no ease,
I'm free at last from life's decrees.
