I Sing of Ruin and Romance

A cycle of poems «Your Love Was My Siege Weapon»

Ashes drift on midnight’s breeze,
Broken roses at my knees,
Through shattered halls and distant chance -
I sing of ruin and romance.

Twilight beckons through the pain,
Echoes binding soul and chain.

I sing of ruin and romance,
Shadowed hopes that dared to dance,
Love and loss in silver lance,
Hearts aflame by fleeting glance -
I sing of ruin and romance.

Crimson banners torn and scarred,
Dreams once golden now are charred,
Still I hold the memories starred,
Wounds grown deep but not yet barred.

Twilight beckons through the pain,
Echoes binding soul and chain.

I sing of ruin and romance,
Shadowed hopes that dared to dance,
Love and loss in silver lance,
Hearts aflame by fleeting glance -
I sing of ruin and romance.

Ancient vows beneath the dust,
Promises that broke our trust,
Yet from ashes, rise I must,
Love endures through blade and rust.

If dawn restored the night we knew,
Would you choose to live it through?
In flame or tears, love’s cry renew -
Ruined yet I sing for you.

Stars will fade and ruins fall,
Still my voice will break the thrall,
Bound by fate’s relentless trance -
I sing of ruin and romance.
