Ivory towers, blinded trust,
Gold now dulled by amber dust,
Echoes lost within the rust -
The empire of us fell silent.

Storms that whispered harsh goodbye,
Dreams abandoned, left to die.

Shadows rule where once we’d chant,
Ghosts remain, but hearts recant -

Battlements we could not mend,
Chasms widened, hearts pretend,
Banners torn we could not send,
Hoping silence wasn’t end.

Crown once bright now left alone,
