I Rode on Thunder, You Held the Flame

A cycle of poems «Your Love Was My Siege Weapon»

Riding storms across the sky,
Thunder crashes, lightning high,
You held the flame against the gale -
Together strong, we dared to sail.

Fires burn and tempests roar,
Hearts united, evermore.

I rode on thunder, you held the flame,
Through raging storms and endless rain,
Bound by passion, not by shame,
Together we ignited the same -
I rode on thunder, you held the flame.

Winds of war, a savage cry,
Blazing trails across the sky,
You stood firm while fears would fly,
In your fire, I found my why.

Fires burn and tempests roar,
Hearts united, evermore.

I rode on thunder, you held the flame,
Through raging storms and endless rain,
Bound by passion, not by shame,
Together we ignited the same -
I rode on thunder, you held the flame.

Chains may break and skies may fall,
But your light still conquers all,
Steel and flame against the call,
In your blaze, I hear the thrall.

If fate could change the course we steer,
Would you still banish all my fear?
Or leave me lost, alone out here -
With just the thunder that you hear?

Thunder fades as flames remain,
Burning bright despite the pain,
In your fire, I find my name -
I rode on thunder, you held the flame.
