Broken strings and fading chimes,
Lost within these haunted rhymes,
Falling far from every line -
Out of tune, out of time.

Echoes crack, no reason why,
Rising notes just fade and die.

Out of tune, out of time,
Lost within this silent crime,
Hearts that stray and lose their rhyme,
Dancing on a fractured climb -
Out of tune, out of time.

We tried to sing a perfect song,
But something whispered it was wrong,
Every measure stretched so long,
Till love evaporated strong.

Promises fell like falling rain,
Failed to heal the aching pain,
We played on through the strain,
But nothing’s ever quite the same.

If I could find a way to bend,
Fix the breaks, make amends,
Would you stay or just pretend,
Or let the silence be the end?

Empty echoes as I rhyme -
