No Encore for a Dead Love

A cycle of poems «Your Melody of Heartache»

Curtains close on empty stage,
Faded echoes fill the cage,
Once a flame, now cold and rough -
No encore for a dead love.

Final bow, no crowd’s applause,
Silent halls, they hold the cause.

No encore for a dead love,
Falling stars and skies above,
All the fire’s turned to dust,
Lost the fight, lose all you trust -
No encore for a dead love.

We played the song with hearts aflame,
Loved too wild to stay the same,
Broken notes and whispered blame,
Now the silence speaks your name.

Final bow, no crowd’s applause,
Silent halls, they hold the cause.

No encore for a dead love,
Falling stars and skies above,
All the fire’s turned to dust,
Lost the fight, lose all you trust -
No encore for a dead love.

Words like thunder left to fade,
Memories in shadow laid,
Every promise slowly betrayed,
In the dark, the music swayed.

If I could call you back to light,
Rewrite the end, make wrong things right,
But love once lost won’t start the night,
No encore comes for fading sight.

Empty stage and final rest,
Love’s last breath, a fading quest,
In the silence, nothing left -
No encore for a dead love’s theft.
