What is autumn? Just the sky,
Crying softly underfoot.
Raindrops fall, as birds take flight,
Through clouds of silver soot.

All the streets reflect your flame,
Every leaf recalls your name -
Autumn, I’ve been far too long,
Gone where you don’t belong.

Autumn - they’re burning ships in the sky,
Autumn - I dream of learning to fly.
Down where sorrow meets the sea,
Autumn, hear my plea.

What is autumn? Stones and rain,
Faith that never fades away.
