Cosmos and the Pale Blue Dot

We're star stuff, contemplating stars above,
Atoms with awareness, learning how to love.
In every living room, the universe speaks,
Supernovas bloom, as reason and wonder peak.

No need for burning bushes when science unfolds,
In wavelengths of light, the cosmos is told.
In neurons and minds, the galaxies reside,
Seeking the sacred in equations defined.

When we came here, we didn’t really know,
On a different level, it seemed okay to go.
We tried to save them, from politics, and strife,
From fleeting ideas, that cause eternal life.

The cosmos knowing itself, in time and space,
The sublime in nature, the sacred in our embrace.
Temporary arrangements, in the vast expanse,
The most profound divine experience, in every chance.

It's a generally observable divinity,
In every thing we see, not hidden in the sky.
The pale blue dot, spinning through the night,
A testament to life, in the vast cosmic light.

We tried to save them, from their self-inflicted pain,
But they were obsessed with fleeting, empty gain.
In the end, it's love, that binds us all,
The extraordinary, in the natural law.

* Carl Edward Sagan (born November 9, 1934, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.- passed away on December 20, 1996, Seattle, Washington) was an American astronomer and science writer.

Sagan was a popular public advocate of skeptical scientific inquiry and the scientific method. He pioneered the field of exobiology and promoted the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI).

Sagan is famous for writing popular science books and co-writing and presenting the award-winning 1980 television series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage. He also wrote the science fiction novel Contact, which was later made into a movie.
