a Doll in a Mall

I watched you leave again, but this time, forever;
You were again saying so many things to me,
But this time, your words mattered never,
You listed every lie you'd told, then set them free.

And then you left, without a final word,
You told me I'm the one who is alone,
But I just felt like a discarded doll, unheard,
Left forever in a mall vast and unknown,
Wondering how I shrank to be so small.

You claimed that you were "the one," but let me state,
You said this after I had borne it all,
You weren't beside me through that month of fate,
But with your new friend, you were occupied.
You asked if I'd be your bride—the answer's no, I cried.
