I know, my God, Your hand is here with me

I'm on a bridge, the river flows below,
The Rhine, a leaden ribbon, moves along.
The heavy clouds have gathered, dark and low,
The world feels cold and cruel, where things go wrong.
A whisper from my lashes, tears are near,
My soul is trembling from the wind and gloom.
But I look up to heaven, void of fear,
And trust that God won't leave me to my doom.

I know, my God, Your hand is here with me,
It will not ever leave me or forsake.
Your tender care brings me tranquility,
Your kindness keeps my spirit from the break.
Your shining beacon always shows the way,
When anxious thoughts around me start to grow.
It keeps me on the path, I will not stray,
And gives me strength to face the road I go.

Though all the world is shrouded in the gray,
And it may seem there is no exit sign,
I hold onto Your promises today,
My God, I know Your sacred word is mine!
And this belief becomes my sturdy shield,
It gives me meaning, something to hold fast.
A flame of hope my heart will never yield,
I walk ahead, believing it will last.
