My Euphoria
On thinning ice,
I slow my pace.
Life pulses on,
With death it plays.
Our eyes are lenses,
Live,we're on the air.
My ego's silent–
My Euphoria!
(Verse 1)
Above the chasm of eternity,
Afraid to make a wrong move,a misstep.
My limbs went numb and frozen,
Before I even leapt.
To tear out of your clutches
This rigid set of laws,
And rewrite all the pages
In my mother tongue.
All my conclusions,
Are sickly,grim forecasts.
The lyrics of my heart
Turn to prose on the exhale.
And every breath I take is heavy,
Like I'm on a machine.
A limit's been imposed
On my horizon of dreams.
(Bridge)
Your scream,
Inside my head–
Phantoms of the past,
A fear that's widespread.
From hundreds of dictations –
"We'll sink!"they all said.
But in reality,
Not a single one came true.
(Chorus)
On thinning ice,
I slow my pace.
Life pulses on,
With death it plays.
Our eyes are lenses,
Live,we're on the air.
My ego's silent–
My Euphoria!
(Verse 2)
The sparks within my eyes
Have died under the weight,
Of an obsessive whisper–
"Just conform,don't stray."
To grab and take the wheel
Just before the final turn,
The one that was lit by a beam
Burning through the dark.
Living under hypnosis
Of my own creation.
The link to what is real
Faded with time,a slow erosion.
Lost in the abyss
Of daily,petty races,
I sought a way out
From the hall of mirrors'mazes.
(Bridge)
You're craving attention
From everyone outside.
You're skillfully performing
Roles in a play,you hide.
And so it goes each day,
You're drowning in the lies.
Not cherishing the moment,
Your life you sacrificed.
(Chorus)
On thinning ice,
I slow my pace.
Life pulses on,
With death it plays.
Our eyes are lenses,
Live,we're on the air.
My ego's silent–
My Euphoria!
