The World Problem of Racial Minorities
Alice A. Bailey, “The Problems of Humanity”
World Problems:
1. Psychological rehabilitation of nations.
2. The problem of children in the world.
3. The problem of capital, labor, and employment.
4. The problem of racial minorities.
5. The problem of churches.
6. The problem of international unity.
The World Problem of Racial Minorities.
"At the very beginning of our discussion, it is useful to recall that this whole problem has its origins in a weakness characteristic of human beings, namely the great sin or heresy of separation. Truly, there is no greater sin than this; it is responsible for all human evil."
Alice A. Bailey, “The Problems of Humanity”
1. The heresy of separation.
The heresy of separation is an illusion implanted in the human consciousness that has long since become dogma and has power over both the individual and humanity as a whole.
Heresy becomes heresy not when imperfect human consciousness attempts to explore and comprehend the Divine Plan, but when it forgets the relativity of its conclusions and presents them as Divine Truth.
People's interpretation of the event known as “Man's violation of God's Will and his expulsion from Paradise” became heresy when it began to be presented as Revelation and Divine Knowledge.
Heresy is also how God is presented in human interpretation — cruel, angry, and punishing, and His Will cruel and merciless.
Filling the human mind, Heresy distorted the Knowledge of the One God-Creator as Love-Wisdom.
In its interpretation, it has replaced God the Creator of the universe with an entity from Saturn — Jehovah, proclaiming qualities that are not characteristic of God the Creator as divine: anger and punishment, instilling fear and servility in the human mind.
In our universe, everything goes according to the Divine Plan, and everything created by God has a Divine Purpose.
This is also true of Man, created by God not on a whim or for the sake of admiration, but so that he could participate in the realization of His Divine Plan.
By sending Man into the material world, God manifested His Will, as it was predestined by His Divine Plan.
The Son's departure may have been accompanied by various warnings, explanations, and teachings, but it was predestined for the Children of God to follow this path, fulfilling the Father's Plan.
To know the world When creating man, God endowed him with Free Will, which remained with him even after the “expulsion.”
Free Will implies that its possessor can choose the paths and methods of knowledge.
Moreover, man can explore the world and create in it, both independently and together with God.
We see all this in the modern world. There are people and groups of people who live according to their own understanding, and there are those who live and create with God.
God has never renounced man and is ready to come to his aid at the first call. He is always near and continues to love His Creation — Man — but does not influence his Free Will, which He Himself once gave him.
There was a long period in the life of Humanity when we were united in God and with God. We used His Mind and lived in bliss. We communicated with God, and everything was clear and understandable to us.
Then came the second stage, when, according to the Divine Plan, we had to develop our own minds, going through a path full of uncertainty and difficulties in Matter.
Matter turned out to be incomprehensible, distorting understanding and leading to delusion. It turned out that without our own minds, we did not have our own light of understanding with which to illuminate Matter and understand how it works.
Without a developed mental apparatus that could correctly explain what was happening, we were doomed to create heresies, erroneous theories, and remain in illusions. It was during this period that the Heresy of Separation appeared — the sin of division.
Moreover, without the light of our own minds, we could not see the Luminous “particle” of God within us that had set out on the Path with us. The light of His Presence was invisible to people for a long time, and they mistook the wandering reflections in Matter for divine light.
A “part” of God — His Presence is in each of us, and It is the same for all people at its Divine level.
By developing their mind, people begin to recognize the light of God's Presence within themselves and connect with Him, thus uniting with all people, regardless of external differences: skin color, religion, or country of residence.
Humanity evolves through the development of the mental principle. By developing and refining the mind, a person increases their light, gains understanding and vision, allowing them to first see glimpses of the Divine Presence within themselves, and then merge with it.
According to the Divine Plan, having begun its Path with Unity in Spirit, having passed through the path of knowledge and disclosure of spirituality, Humanity must unite in Matter and become the Third Spiritual Center, which will allow it to connect with the other two Spiritual Centers: the Hierarchy and Shambhala, into the Spiritual Planetary Triad and, filling the Earth with Divine Light, transform it into a sacred planet.
2. The formation of a “minority” as a property of the human mind.
The heresy of Separation formed in the human worldview the illusion that Humanity is a punished and oppressed “minority” suffering in relation to the “majority” — God — who has all rights and power.
The illusion of “Man's Separation from God” became dominant in the human mind and influenced the formation of all of Humanity.
But apart from the Illusion of “Separation from God,” Man retained the inner Knowledge that the Divine Principle continues to live within him.
Man wants to return to God and once again experience the joy of Unity with Him.
Even the illusion of “Separation” could not drown out the Knowledge that God never renounced man, that God is Love-Wisdom, not anger and punishment, that He waits and is always ready to come to the rescue.
The history of humanity is a history of the search for a return to God, and throughout history, this search has been influenced by the Heresy of Separateness and the “sin of division.”
The path back to God consists in realizing the One Divine Presence of all people, in which man must find the Way, but instead, under the power of the Heresy of Separation, for millennia he has chosen another path — the path of division and separation, leading to sorrow and suffering.
The path of separation is characterized by the fact that in order to realize itself as god, the human mind does not seek the Light of the Divine Presence of all humanity, but finds differences and creates a minority of those who possess them. It seeks those who differ from it in skin color, religion, language, etc.
If it does not find those around it who differ from it in external characteristics, then it seeks those who are weaker, stupider, more cowardly than it, and begins to exert pressure, turning the victim into a despised minority.
Distinguishing themselves from the minority, the majority considers themselves to be a more enlightened and divine majority, and the minority to be dark and sinful.
The person of the “majority” exerts pressure and exercises the right of the strong. In this way, they try to regain and experience a sense of divine power.
Taking on the image of the Old Testament Jehovah, the majority imagines itself to be God. It believes it has the right to judge and use violence against the “guilty” minority, which must suffer or deserves punishment.
The majority can “feel like a god,” experience a state of power and freedom, only when it punishes, discriminates against, and subjects the minority to genocide. It separates itself from the “dark” and “separated from God” minority, not noticing that it separates itself from the One Divine Presence, hidden but existing in every person.
And this happens not only in racial, international, and group relations, but also at the family level. If a grown-up child wants to understand the world as he wants and does not follow the will of his parents, they can turn into harsh gods.
What happens at the level of an individual also happens at the level of groups of people, religious congregations, or nations.
Until enlightenment by the light of the soul, the human mind is selfish, self-centered, and under the power of the Heresy of Separation, consisting of two personalities: one is God, and the other is the rejected son.
A person identifies with either one or the other pole of duality in their mind.
Throughout one lifetime, they may perceive themselves as both a minority and a majority. It often happens that in one community they are the majority, and in another they are the minority.
For example, in a family, a child may be the “ugly duckling,” but among their peers, they may be the leader of a teenage group.
Or, a person may belong to a national minority in a state, but within that minority, they may be part of the majority that enjoys all the rights and privileges.
Every time we (as the majority) unconsciously express our negative, aggressive, or contemptuous opinion about a particular group of people (the minority) and feel that we are separating ourselves from the minority, we are actually taking another step away from God and “expelling ourselves from Paradise.”
3. The Esoteric Problem of Minorities. The Role of God's Messenger in the Formation of the Majority.
Over the past 100 years, the international community has done a great deal to help minorities adapt to the global economy and politics. Many nations have gained their independence and access to global cooperation in all areas of life.
At the same time, we see how the concept of “minority” in the modern world is becoming increasingly arbitrary. In many countries, those who were previously a minority and did not have sufficient rights and freedoms are now becoming the majority and easily trampling on the rights and freedoms of the former majority.
Now, very quickly, a minority can become a majority, and the former majority can become a minority, subject to genocide and discrimination.
Questions can be asked:
1. Why can some peoples create powerful empires, unions, and federations, while others cannot?
2. Why do some nations and races become the legislators of the world agenda in all spheres of life, from cultural and religious to economic and political, while other peoples remain passive observers of what is happening and feel inferior?
3. Why do some nations have a passionate spirit, while others do not?
These questions reveal the main question:
Why does one ethnic group become the majority, growing out of a minority, while the former majority may degenerate and become a minority?
For example, what were France, Great Britain, Russia, the United States, Germany, or China like at the dawn of their existence?
Each of these majorities has come a long way, starting with its formation, initially as a minority fighting for its existence and identity, to becoming a powerful world leader.
The modern “majorities” were minorities for a long period of history and were subjected to attacks from powerful neighbors and sometimes pressure from climatic conditions and the natural environment.
Risking extinction, the future majority was born under the influence of discrimination, deprivation, internal strife, and bloody battles.
Strangely enough, it was precisely these difficulties and threats to their existence that forged the character of the future world leader and awakened spiritual forces.
Before becoming the majority, the minority found the strength to overcome the divisive Heresy of Separation, which gave rise to internal strife, and turn their gaze to God as their only hope for salvation.
And God did not abandon the minority. He either initiated with His Light from among the ranks of the minority a leader who responded to the Divine guidance of man, or a representative of the Divine Forces was born among the people, around whom the minority united and began its path to becoming the majority.
Minorities turned into majorities because, through their righteous thoughts and lives, they were able to create a spiritual magnet for the coming of a Messenger, Disciple, or even Teacher of the Hierarchy of Light, around whom the minority united and began its journey to becoming the majority.
A few examples:
France: Joan of Arc (the incarnation of E.I. Roerich) was a Messenger of the Hierarchy of Light, and her actions saved France from complete collapse, consolidated the people, and restored French statehood.
Russia: Sergius of Radonezh (the incarnation of Master El Morya) gave impetus to the revival of Russia.
China: The Masters of Light Buddha and Lao Tzu (the incarnation of Master Saint Germain) revived Chinese civilization and gave it a spiritual direction.
A striking example of the emergence of the majority from the minority is the Netherlands in the Middle Ages:
The Netherlands, a small territory with a less than favorable climate and a small population, fought for its independence from Spain, at that time a powerful empire, for 80 years.
During the Eighty Years' War (1568-1648), also known as the Dutch Revolution, the people of the Netherlands not only fought for their independence, but also reclaimed land from the sea for their existence.
The inhabitants of the Netherlands were a minority in relation to Spain. Their economy, military experience, and population were no match for the Spanish Empire. However, it was during the Eighty Years' War that the minority united spiritually and, by implementing religious and socio-economic changes in their environment, created a favorable opportunity for the embodiment of many Disciples of the Hierarchy of Light in the Netherlands.
These were not only artists known to their contemporaries: Mirevelt, Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and Johannes Vermeer, but also navigators, philosophers, reformers, and scientists of all known fields, from astronomers to biologists.
We can mention:
The navigator Willem Barents, after whom the Barents Sea is named.
Antoni van Leeuwenhoek—the inventor of the microscope, who was the first to see bacteria.
Christiaan Huygens—astronomer. He discovered the rings of Saturn.
Baruch Spinoza, philosopher and student of Descartes.
Hugo Grotius, statesman and founder of maritime law,
and so on.
The divine light that shone through their creations and discoveries gave impetus to humanitarian and technical development not only in the Netherlands, but throughout the world.
Later, historians would call this period the “Golden Age of the Dutch Republic.”
Fighting battles and reclaiming land from the sea for eighty years, the Dutch minority created the Flemish and Dutch schools of painting, resulting in the creation of more than six million paintings, universally recognized as world masterpieces that have become the heritage of all humanity.
The Dutch developed and implemented the science of land reclamation, shipbuilding, a system of popular self-government, and the norms of maritime law.
During this same period, the Netherlands became the main trading center of Northern Europe and began to actively trade spices with India and Indonesia. Having grown stronger, the Netherlands, which could no longer be called a minority, colonized not only Indonesia and some territories in India, but also established colonies in South Africa, North America, Brazil, and several Caribbean islands.
Minority or majority are determined not by population size, territory, or favorable living conditions, but by the level of consciousness and spirituality of the population that responds to the Light of the Hierarchy.
For the Messenger of God, there has always been a threat to life on Earth. The entire history of humanity is a story of the struggle between the Heresy of Separation and the liberating light of God, which was brought to Earth in the form of the Knowledge of Timeless Wisdom by His Messengers.
If the majority ceases to be guided by the Messengers of the Hierarchy of Light and the Divine Knowledge they carry, the connection with God is severed and the majority falls under the power of the Heresy of Separation, which divides it into parts, plunges it into strife, and deviates it from the Divine Plan.
Thus, a once united community loses its spiritual bearings and becomes a minority.
The esoteric problem of not only racial minorities, but all types of minorities, is that they cannot attract to their community the coming of a Messenger of the Hierarchy, a Divine Avatar, a Prophet, a Messiah, a Conduit of Light.
The group consciousness of a minority that is not directed toward God does not radiate enough Light for God the Creator to respond and send one of His Messengers with the Good News, or to initiate a person from the minority who is ready for contact with Him.
The majority becomes a minority when the Heresy of Separation begins to prevail in it, leading to strife and division. Then, the level of spirituality falls, and it loses the ability to create a light magnet for the arrival of the Messenger of the Hierarchy or Shambhala, thanks to whom it turned from a minority into a majority.
The current minorities are too busy feeling sorry for themselves, crying out about their unfair lot, tearing open historical scars until they bleed, and do not understand that their well-being depends on how much they can attune themselves and accept the Messenger of the Hierarchy or Shambhala with their hearts and minds, regardless of the nation in which he was born.
Some minorities wait for a Messiah or Prophet only for themselves, but never see him come, because they do not understand that the Messenger of the Hierarchy has no national or religious affiliation.
They think about their own prosperity, independence, and freedom through access to global economic resources and political levers of influence, rather than about World Cooperation, service to the Common Good, and the liberation of all Humanity from the Heresy of Separation.
The consciousness of a Disciple, and even more so of a Teacher of the Hierarchy of Light, has long transcended the boundaries of nationality, religion, or social group. They are conduits of Divine Love and the Teachings of Timeless Wisdom for all of Humanity, and they come to Earth to solve global problems, not to satisfy the material ambitions of minorities.
The service of the Messenger of the Hierarchy or Shambhala is dedicated to the Divine Plan and the Common Good for the whole world, not just for the people among whom he incarnated.
