Here
on the sill
my nature display:
one dried rose, crow
feathers, a cicada
shell (too small
a house
for the body).

One candle,
wax curled
from when last
the wick was lit; you
were illuminated
by the flicketing.
At night,
as in sunlight, I miss you.

Spiders weave nets
in the boxwood. When
I walk I study
what's been caught:
some twigs, a fly
shimmying to escape,
a fly lying
perfectly still.

Last
you gave
a pencil:
Venus Beats All No. 2...
the sharpened part
to record desire,
the soft pink nub
to erase.

Вот,
на подоконнике мои
природные экспонаты:
одна засушенная роза,
вороньи перья, панцирь
цикады (слишком
домик маловат
для тела).

Одна свеча,
увита воском
с той поры, когда фитиль
последний раз зажегся. Твоя
была фигура освещена мерцаньем.
Ночью,
как и при свете дня,
скучаю по тебе.

Ткут сети пауки
в самшите. Когда
гуляю я, то изучаю,
что было поймано:
несколько веток, муха,
бьющаяся, чтоб выбраться,
другая, лежащая
недвижно совершенно.

Последний раз
тобой подарен
карандаш:
"Венера победит всех", н-р 2...
заточенная остро часть
для записи желаний
и мягкий кончик розовый,
чтоб их стирать
