First Love
We ran from class to taste the freedom we dreamed of.
The forest stream was singing, birds encouraged play,
My heart was racing fast, as time just slipped away.
Your eyes were sparkling, like sunlight on the sea,
We whispered secrets, hidden deep in you and me.
The wind then softly said: “Your secrets I’ll defend,
Years will pass, but by the stream you’ll find them once again.”
So many thoughts and feelings filled my soul,
My head was spinning high.
Your laughter rang like silver bright,
While I could barely breathe that night.
No one in the universe was ever happier than we,
I kissed your lips, your precious eyes of mystery.
How sweet the honey of that kiss, so true,
I kissed you once, again, again - my joy renewed.
From passion, from bliss, from the wings that had grown,
From knowing together through life we’d go on.
Alas, that night divided fate,
Our wings could not escape the weight.
And in the forest, like a wolf, the wind would cry,
Of First Love’s spell, we can’t deny.
O dearest wind, if only you knew,
How First Love’s fire forever is true.
Its magic lives deep, in souls intertwined,
We guard it daily, in heart and mind.
You remain forever in every rhyme,
In melodies woven through the thread of time.
And leaving the halls of earthly skies,
We’ll meet once more, love in our eyes.
And hand in hand, with hearts anew,
We’ll softly whisper: “I love you.”
