We’ll never truly understand
Why winds can laugh, why hearts expand,
And why, in innocence so sweet,
Children can sometimes wound so deep.

Why must somebody fade away,
Just to be noticed for a day?
So many questions left behind,
That God has scattered through our minds.

The day that’s leaving won’t return,
