We remain
In twilight, bearing only soul,
I walk toward the light.
In this life I’ve come to know —
My life is whole, not lost to night.
I cast off fear and lust’s disguise,
I cast off every lie.
Behind me — fire, smoke, and cries;
Ahead — the sacred pyre nigh.
[Chorus]
Ash will touch the brow at last,
Grief endures through time untold —
We left our kin behind us fast,
And in them, we remain bold.
Arrows fly from sorrow’s bow —
The son sends forth his sacred dart —
Into the barge where embers glow,
His father, warrior of heart.
[Verse 2]
The stone once heavy on his chest
Now falls, worn smooth by years.
The elder leaves his father’s nest,
And walks the path of tears.
In darkness, bearing only soul,
He walks toward the gleam.
Today he knows — he’s not alone:
His life lives on, a living stream.
[Chorus]
Ash will touch the brow at last,
Grief endures through time untold —
We left our kin behind us fast,
And in them, we remain bold.
Arrows fly from sorrow’s bow —
The son sends forth his sacred dart —
Into the barge where embers glow,
His father, warrior of heart.
[Verse 3]
Arrows kiss the burning sail,
The barge returns to flame.
We left our kin — they tell our tale,
And in them, we remain.
[Coda]
Ash will touch the brow at last,
Grief endures through time untold —
We left our kin behind us fast,
And in them, we remain bold.
Arrows fly from sorrow’s bow —
The son sends forth his sacred dart —
Into the barge where embers glow,
His father, warrior of heart.
