Hanahaki Shrift

The moment I missed
That I search for your gaze,
That I constantly steps of yours follow,
That my heart is ablaze
(As if I could resist),
Some firm roots took hold where it'd been hollow.

It crawled and it squeezed,
I decided to bear
The silence unforseen yet colossal;
Could that small plant spare
Me and try to subsist
Somewhere outside, yet appeared the blossom.

Your genuine smile,
Your heartwrenching despair
I swallowed as if I were a mirror;
From my lungs the air,
Unawares, had exiled,
As cerulean buds interfered.

The unspoken weight
Was inflecting your spine;
At least, if only it could be kissed off,
It wouldn't be late
To take sorrows of thine,
But hoping this way makes me choke and cough.

And cough then it was,
That appeared to maul
My full-blown heart I could not hold within;
My feelings, my flaws,
In the florets withal,
Were put on display, vivid and obscene.

Cold floor underneath,
In the petals so blue;
Out of breath, I am not keen on trying,
The flowers broke through,
And in wonder you see
That meeting your gaze at last I'm dying.

Please do not fret: I welcome thus my fate;
Enjoy the bloom for it will desiccate.
