Winter Reigns Above with Falling Snow
Her crystal call is whispering below.
At home the fire warms, the table’s set,
With pies, the samovar, and comfort met.
Winter arrived, the rivers bound in ice,
The world now sleeps beneath her veil of white.
The world has fallen deep asleep,
Yet sparks of fire still softly leap.
We do not sleep, we sing along,
The blizzard’s voice becomes our song.
In December, frost the artist’s hand
Painted crystal flowers on the glass.
In January the snowstorms dance,
A swirling, twirling double carousel.
By February the sunlight glows,
Snow gleams like pearls in endless rows.
Soon winter leaves her shining throne,
And spring returns — we’ll say, “Welcome home!”
