You are my warmth!
And autumn cries outside my window pane.
My grieving heart was thinking at the last,
That everything was shrouded in the rain.
The dawn is met by drops from roof and eaves,
A shadow and a sorrow in my soul.
But then I hear your voice, my heart believes,
And autumn days for me are bright and whole.
You are a sunbeam in the clouds of gray,
That gives me hope to carry on anew.
You are the faith of dawn's first rosy ray,
That gently comes the darkest night right through.
You are the rainbow after stormy skies,
You are my brightly shining, golden sun.
You are the light and joy before my eyes,
My beating heart, my dearest, cherished one.
I love the smile you always give to me,
I love the warmth that from your hands does flow.
You make my deepest sorrows cease to be,
And with them, all the misery and woe.
So let the blizzard rage outside the door,
For in our home, the spring will always bloom.
Because we found each other, evermore,
And weather cannot fill our world with gloom.
