Scallops

Oh, sea! Do you have any scallops?
I'm looking for something indeed.
I've searched and I've looked through your narrows,
I'm scared of going too deep.

Just tell if I need to keep seeking,
Just tell if I'm doing it wrong.
Oh, maybe I have to start singing
Some kind of a ritual song?

Oh no, I am not fond of stealing,
I think you're getting it false.
Through the storm my old ship I was steering
And lost dozen scallops with pearls.

Without 'em my heart will stop beating,
Without 'em I have nothing left.
So please, dear sea, take a pity,
Don't think it's a violent theft.

I'm married, I left all my daughters
And wife there, over the sea.
Big grief separation have brought us,
Don't know if together we'll be.

I've been through a lot, I was drowning,
Not once was my life on the line.
With storms and with rains I was battling
And never committed a crime.

Collected my treasure still dreaming
To give to my loved as a gift.
So please, dear sea, take a pity
And give my own scallops to me.
