This video recounts the history of the Netherlands. From its first inhabitants to the premiership of Mark Rutte. It looks at the Roman Period, subsequent Viking and Frankish invasions and the its development of trade through the Hanseatic league. It further shows how the struggle against the Spanish developed and how this led to it becoming a super power in the 17th century, how it declined and how it regained success in the 20th century.
