When Hearts Are Close

Teacher asked us in the morning light,
"Tell me why we raise our voice to fight?"
We thought it’s ‘cause our calm just slips away,
But why so loud, when they’re a breath away?

He said, "When anger builds and walls grow tall,
Hearts drift apart, they barely hear at all.
So voices rise to cross that empty space,
And every shout just pushes them farther from embrace."

When hearts are close, you whisper low,
No need to shout, no need to show.
A single glance can speak enough,
When all you feel is endless love.
But if the distance starts to grow,
The louder words, the less they know.

"And when in love," he smiled, "you softly speak,
Your hearts so near, your souls both seek
The quiet truth that hides in every breath,
The kind of bond that conquers even death."

And when love rules, no words at all,
Just whispers that the stars recall.
Sometimes eyes will tell it true,
All the worlds inside of you.

When hearts are close, you whisper low,
No need to shout, no need to show.
A single glance can speak enough,
When all you feel is endless love.
But if the distance starts to grow,
The louder words, the less they know.

So guard the space, don’t let it spread,
Choose gentle words, choose love instead.
For when the miles are far and wide,
You may not find your way inside.
