We All Need Each Other

Once my grandma told me, with a gentle, warming grace,
A soft smile on her lips, as she looked into my face:
"No journey starts in vain, no soul just comes and goes,
Every life's a purpose, as the river ever flows.

You are the answer, child, a key to set things right,
To someone's sorrow, suffering, and darkest, lonely night."
I wondered then the meaning, so profound and deep -
A truth like that my young mind then could hardly keep.

She continued then: "Your dormant gift, it lies within,
Not always seen at once - where does its magic begin?
But for another soul, it's a message from above,
The saving, precious answer, born of purest love.

Your quiet smile, your gentle, soft caress,
Can chase the deepest shadows, banish all distress
From someone's spirit, even for a fleeting day,
But often, darling, that's enough to light the way."

Every single one of us on Earth -
Not by chance, or without worth.
We're an answer to a whispered plea,
A saving grace, for you and me.

The years flew by, and I grew up to understand
The precious wisdom whispered, held within her hand.
We all are needed, soul to soul, our words, our gentle touch,
And this is simply truth - not something to search much.

For someone's deepest sorrow, you're a healing, soothing balm,
For someone's aching thirst - pure morning dew, a calm.
You are the one they're waiting for, unique in every way,
Your irreplaceable beauty shining bright, come what may.

This world is perfect, beautiful, and vast -
Enjoy its wonder, know your every breath is meant to last.
You are someone's faith, their hope, their truest love,
The one with whom they'll never feel alone, a gift from up above.
You are someone's life, a beat within their heart,
You are someone's air, right from the very start.

Every single one of us on Earth -
Not by chance, or without worth.
We're an answer to a whispered plea,
A saving grace, for you and me.

A saving grace...
For you and me.
