Night s Shepherd

Softly from the twilight, the night begins to creep,
From fields where wind and slumber silently now sleep.
Along the lonely roads, it walks so slow and deep,
Longing for the dawn to greet, the morning light to keep.

And distant waves climb high above, embracing skies so vast,
Kissing the heavens with a gentle, timeless cast.
But in the ocean’s depths, a weary shoal found rest;
Their strength ran out - in cruel nets they held fast.

Oh, boundless Sea, your restless waves don’t ever sleep,
While Night, the shepherd, keeps its watch so strong and deep.
Spreading out its dark black cloak across the world so wide,
Beneath its silent, vast embrace, the earth can safely hide.

With heavy, measured footsteps, Night walks the grassy shore,
And from above, with starlit eyes, forever gazing o’er.
It watches the blue surf, where cool waves ever pour -
A silent guardian, standing at the ocean’s door.
