I chose to walk beneath the moonlit sky
And left the noise and bustle far behind.
My heart has found its peace as time went by,
The world's unearthly beauty for my mind.
The cooling moonlight washed the garden grounds,
That in this season have so richly bloomed.
I sensed the floral scent that now surrounds,
Brought by the gentle winds, I have assumed.
The cherry trees, as if beneath a crown,
Are standing there like brides in gowns of white.
Their beauty, for the loving Maker shown,
Is shining in the timid, dusky light.
I raised my head and froze, through the cherry blossoms,
I saw the endless, starry sky unfold.
The Creator created a pattern of bright stars,
A sight of wonder for my eyes to hold.
The bright and dim stars in a night parade
Combined into a spray of fairy lights.
And I was glad, so wondrously glad-made
By harmony of God's divine insights.
I want to offer praise up in a prayer
For all the thrill that's filling up my soul.
For this unearthly grace beyond compare,
This soulful day that made my spirit whole.
