I wake up, darling, in the morning light,
But you are gone, you’re out of sight.
I feel the warmth that isn’t yours,
A voice of love behind closed doors.
I whisper to my heart again,
I must not drown inside this pain.

It’s not my fate to hold you near,
No matter how I wish you here.

Your eyes, so wise, make me complete.
And so I tell myself again,
There is a place for me in your domain.
