In the night lights

He didn’t want to see the vision,
The town ablaze with light.
That glow — mysterious, magical —
He hated it from spite.

He turned away and walked toward home;
A quiet peace for him,
A gentle warmth, a tender glow —
A place of hush and dream.

And let the streams run freely there,
Let her wander among them fair.
Forget the things that never care —
You're not some flawless shining gem.
