Victory Day
автор исходника на русском языке – Ирина Крымова
Through bitter miles we so crossly retreated,
Menacing shadows of war grimly loomed,
With heavy hearts we lost cities, defeated,
Foemen advanced and our country seemed doomed.
Everywhere traces of fires and ravage,
Tears and sorrows hit every abode,
But we were able to take our courage,
Radical turn dawned with promising bode.
We all for ages defend Mother Russia,
Motherland called us to battle again,
So we deployed our ranks, no discussion,
Chasing the Nazis from native domain.
Daily and nightly our victory forging,
We as a numerous kinfolk became,
Sharing both woes and withstanding misfortune,
Victory over the darkness we claim.
Sorrows and joys this High Day has intaken,
Will be remembered for ages by Land,
Thus we prevailed, and yet none is forsaken,
Heroes are honored, who enemy stand.
Cenotaphs raised to remember and rear,
Flame for the tribute of fallen burn may,
To every heart of the Russians are near
Those who by heavens are guarded today.
