Angels
They look like us, they laugh and cry, they tremble when it’s drear.
But through the dark, their task remains—to lead us toward the light,
To help us find a way to love and guide us through the night.
We live, we breathe, we learn to try to love and not to hate,
Behind our backs, the breath of time reminds us of our fate.
Oh, God above, please give us sight, a beacon far away,
To lead us through the storm ahead, to light another day.
A mighty storm has struck the land, destroying lives and dreams,
And still, they tell us: "Be more kind, though torn apart it seems!
There are no foes, no terrorists, just people, can't you see?"
But tell me, who will mourn for those who died in agony?
They call us fiends, they call us cruel, they twist the truth we know,
And once again, the darkness fights to snuff the righteous glow.
And once again, the burden falls on those who bear the flame,
Yet once again, the world declares: the Jews must take the blame.
Yet angels walk the earth today—just try and look around,
Where sunlight pierces through the mist, where truth still may be found.
So listen close, and you may hear the voice that rings so clear,
The whisper of the righteous ones who conquer doubt and fear.
Perhaps one day, when you have grown, you’ll see what you upheld,
And shame will flood your soul to know the lies that you once held.
For darkness dressed in silken words had lured you to its side,
But wisdom can’t be lent or bought—without it, fools abide.
You cursed the angel, jeered and spat upon his shining face,
Yet still, he walked with steady steps, still bathed in heaven’s grace.
And though unseen, the angel wept, yet sang a song so bright,
The world itself, in silent awe, bowed humbly to his light.
Oh, angels, can you see them? They walk among us still,
To some, they may seem human, yet they shine against their will.
And when they pass, if just one time, you glimpse their glowing trace,
You'll know the truth: that in their light, we all may find our grace.
Yes, miracles still walk the earth, they fight, they love, they rise,
So keep your faith, and do not yield—believe in truth, be wise.
For if an angel walks the path and graces us once more,
Then dawn will break, the sun will shine, as bright as once before.
