I Am

The road stretches far, a ribbon of grey,
A journey unending, day after day.
Born on the light of the very first dawn,
Across the cosmos, I've wandered on.

A chariot of sun, a stardust trail,
On countless planets, I set my sail.

The longest distance leads back to you,
A winding path, both ancient and new.
The hardest lessons, the intricate art,
To find the simple song within my heart.

A tune unspoken, a melody deep,
A promise whispered while others sleep.

Knocking on doors, unfamiliar and cold,
Seeking a welcome, a story to be told.
Wandering through worlds, a stranger I seem,
Chasing a vision, a half-forgotten dream.

Through outer realms, I endlessly roam,
Searching for solace, a place called home.

My eyes strayed afar, across the wide sea,
Then closed in the darkness, and whispered to me,
"Here art thou!" a whisper so clear,
Dispelling my worries, and calming my fear.

The questions I held, the cries in the night,
"Where?" echo, lost in the light.

Melt into tears, a river so wide,
A confident answer, will always decide.

"I am!" the assurance, a flood of release,
Finding my center, finding my peace.
