How the Clouds Became Friends

A soft azure cloudlet
Was drifting gently through the sky;
Suddenly a raindrop started weeping gloomily—
Tiny tears began to fall again.

“What’s wrong?” asked tenderly
The cloud from heaven's realms so fair.
Rain looked up with sullen glance:
“I’m bored all alone out here.”

The cloud smiled sweetly then replied:
“Let us be together now!
I’ll give you coolness in return,
And you will moisten earth below!”

So they began their journeys bright
Across the clear blue skies as one;
Rejoicing at each chance encounter,
In cheerful rays of sunlight won.

But suddenly the golden sun shone forth
From behind its fluffy cover once more,
Illuminating everything with warm light,
Warming rain’s heart at its core.

Now on the heavens there is shining bright
A radiant golden orb of warmth;
Above it circles softly clouds so white,
Below sparkles pearl-like drops like gems by half.

Thus live these friends forevermore:
Playing joyfully every single moment free,
Their play brings happiness to us all afar,
Sharing dreams for eternity!

Children listen eagerly to this tale told high above,
Smiling under clear skies filled with glee,
For what could be more beautiful than seeing such delight,
When friendship blooms so beautifully!
