Is There a Chance for Light?

What if the darkness is bright,
And light itself is darkened by night?
In this world not just amiss—
Dawn again will fade to blackness.

Somewhere victories are counted in vain,
Defeats reversed, where triumph reigns.
Love pays with fear’s relentless debt,
Hate's coinage makes good suffer yet.

We dream of earthly journey’s end,
Evil takes wings, ambition ascends.
Balance somewhere will be struck true,
But is there hope for light anew?
