I stepped into the forest green

I stepped into the forest green,
The freshest sight I've ever seen,
Where mystery and wonder gleam,
And nature flows like gentle stream.
The scent of newborn leaves so sweet,
As morning fog lifts from my feet,
This beauty makes my heart complete,
A sacred, peaceful, spring retreat.

My God, my thanks to you I sing,
For every bud and bird on wing,
The peace that only you can bring,
My heart with joy begins to ring.
Thank you, Creator, for this day,
For colors bright and blue in sky,
For giving me these words to say,
And showing me your perfect way.

Your handiwork in leaf and tree,
Reveals the way things ought to be,
This beauty sets my spirit free,
A glimpse of your eternity.
The morning dew still fresh and clear,
As foggy wisps now disappear,
Creation's voice I clearly hear,
Removing every doubt and fear.

I breathe the scent of spring's new birth,
This sacred corner of the earth,
A treasure of immense worth,
Fills me with overwhelming mirth.
The wet grass sparkles in the light,
As day emerges from the night,
My soul takes wing in pure delight,
In this divine and precious sight.

My God, my thanks to you I sing,
For every bud and bird on wing,
The peace that only you can bring,
My heart with joy begins to ring.
Thank you, Creator, for this day,
For colors bright and blue in sky,
For giving me these words to say,
And showing me your perfect way.
