Phoenix Rising

A cycle of poems «When Your Love Turns to Ashes»

Ashes fall like snow, a bitter, grey terrain
Memories flicker low, a whispering of pain
The fire's gone, the embers cold, the wreckage all around
A story left untold, lost on forgotten ground

But deep inside the dormant heart, a tiny spark remains
A whisper in the falling dark, that breaks the heavy chains
Phoenix rising, from the pyre, with wings of fire bright
Leaving behind the funeral pyre, soaring towards the light

I walked through shadows, lost and weak, a prisoner of despair
Each day a painful, hollow streak, a burden hard to bear
The weight of failure, crushing down, a suffocating hold
Lost in the labyrinthine town, a story left untold

But deep inside the dormant heart, a tiny spark remains
A whisper in the falling dark, that breaks the heavy chains
Phoenix rising, from the pyre, with wings of fire bright
Leaving behind the funeral pyre, soaring towards the light

They say the flames consume you whole, erase you from the past
But fire refines the very soul, a strength that's meant to last
I feel the heat within my bones, a power taking hold
The seeds of hope, on fertile stones, a story to unfold

And deep inside the dormant heart, a tiny spark remains
A whisper in the falling dark, that breaks the heavy chains
Phoenix rising, from the pyre, with wings of fire bright
Leaving behind the funeral pyre, soaring towards the light

Higher, higher, I will fly, above the smoke and ash
A new beginning in the sky, a future in a flash
Phoenix rising, strong and free, forever I will burn
This is the new and better me, a lesson I have learned.
