Candlelight flickered, a promise in the air
Roses bloomed crimson, a love beyond compare
We stood at the altar, eyes locked in a gaze
Vowing forever in a blissful, golden haze

Broken vows, scattered like dust in the wind
A love once so sacred, now tarnished by sin
The words that we whispered, empty echoes remain
A landscape of heartache, a downpour of pain

We built a foundation on dreams and on hope
With walls of forgiveness, designed to elope
From the storms of the world, the trials and the strife
But somewhere along the road, we lost our way of life
