Bitter Sweet Goodbye

A cycle of poems «Your Fragments of a Broken Heart»

Rain on the window, mirroring my face
Another suitcase packed, another empty space
We stand here silent, in the fading light
Knowing this is ending, even though it feels so right

This is a bittersweet goodbye, a melody of tears
A love song fading, echoing through the years
The taste of sugar on my tongue, but sadness in my heart
A final curtain falling, tearing us apart

We built our castle on a foundation strong
But cracks appeared, and slowly, things went wrong
We tried to fix it, patched it up with care
But echoes of the breaking, still linger in the air

This is a bittersweet goodbye, a melody of tears
A love song fading, echoing through the years
The taste of sugar on my tongue, but sadness in my heart
A final curtain falling, tearing us apart

Maybe someday, down a winding road
We'll meet again, lighten up this heavy load
But for now, we have to walk our separate ways
And cherish all the sunshine, from our golden days

This is a bittersweet goodbye, a melody of tears
A love song fading, echoing through the years
The taste of sugar on my tongue, but sadness in my heart
A final curtain falling, tearing us apart

Bittersweet goodbye, yeah, that's what it is
A final lingering moment, sealed with a kiss
Bittersweet goodbye, though it hurts so bad
I'll hold onto the memories, of everything we had.
