For the Sake of Our Children

A cycle of poems «Your Wounds Are Deep»

The world spins fast, a dizzying haze
Full of shadows and confusing ways
We build our walls, protect our own
But our children's seeds, are they truly sown?

For the sake of our children, we must rise above
Lay down our burdens, and show them love
For the sake of our children, the future they hold
Let's paint a brighter story, before it gets too cold

We argue lines, divide and blame
Lost in the echo of our own game
Their innocent eyes are watching close
Learning the language, the fears we impose

For the sake of our children, we must rise above
Lay down our burdens, and show them love
For the sake of our children, the future they hold
Let's paint a brighter story, before it gets too cold

Maybe the answers aren't written in stone
Maybe compassion can help us be known
For kindness and courage, and strength from within
A world where they flourish, and truly begin

For the sake of our children, we must rise above
Lay down our burdens, and show them love
For the sake of our children, the future they hold
Let's paint a brighter story, before it gets too cold

Let's plant the seeds of hope and trust
In the hearts of our children, they matter the most
For the sake of our children, let our love be the guide
And build a world for tomorrow, with nothing to hide.
