Valley of the Shadow of Death
Sunrise paints the canyon walls a fiery, dusty red
But down below, where shadows crawl, a different tale is spread
The air hangs heavy, thick and still, a silence deep and vast
A chilling breath upon the hill, a memory meant to last
Valley of the Shadow of Death, I walk this path alone
Each step a whispered, ragged breath, a seed that fear has sown
The darkness clings to skin and bone, a weight I can't deny
But somewhere here, a light is known, beyond the somber sky
Twisted thorns and barren ground, a graveyard for the lost
Where echoes of forgotten sound, are counting up the cost
I see the ghosts of shattered dreams, that flicker in the gloom
Reflected in the murky streams, that whisper of the tomb
Valley of the Shadow of Death, I walk this path alone
Each step a whispered, ragged breath, a seed that fear has sown
The darkness clings to skin and bone, a weight I can't deny
But somewhere here, a light is known, beyond the somber sky
My heart is pounding in my chest, a frantic, hurried drum
I pray for strength, I pray for rest, before my senses numb
But deep inside, a flicker burns, a spark that won't be quenched
A knowing that my spirit learns, though battered and entrenched
Valley of the Shadow of Death, I walk this path alone
Each step a whispered, ragged breath, a seed that fear has sown
The darkness clings to skin and bone, a weight I can't deny
But somewhere here, a light is known, beyond the somber sky
Though shadows dance and demons call, I will not turn away
For even in the darkest fall, I know there's a new day
Valley of the Shadow of Death, I face you, unafraid
And rise above with every breath, a spirit to be made.
