Black Raven
Sunrise bleeds a crimson tear, across the frosted field
The air is sharp, a silent fear, a secret to reveal
Upon a withered, gnarled oak tree, silhouetted stark
A feathered shadow watches me, a brand upon the dark
Black raven, perched so high, with eyes of ancient stone
Do you carry secrets of the sky? Or whisper words unknown?
Black raven, omen bright, or harbinger of doom?
Flying through the lonely night, beneath the silent moon
I saw you circle overhead, above the crumbling wall
A memory of words unsaid, a promise doomed to fall
The wind it howls a mournful tune, a chorus in the trees
You understand, beneath the moon, the whisper of the breeze
Black raven, perched so high, with eyes of ancient stone
Do you carry secrets of the sky? Or whisper words unknown?
Black raven, omen bright, or harbinger of doom?
Flying through the lonely night, beneath the silent moon
Some say you're born of darkest sin, a creature of the night
But I see power deep within, a freedom taking flight
You ride the currents, wild and free, beyond the mortal sphere
A symbol of what I could be, if I could conquer fear
Black raven, perched so high, with eyes of ancient stone
Do you carry secrets of the sky? Or whisper words unknown?
Black raven, omen bright, or harbinger of doom?
Flying through the lonely night, beneath the silent moon
Black raven, you take flight, into the fading gray
A silent promise in the night, to guide me on my way
Black raven, fly away, until we meet once more
Black raven, fly away, to that distant shore.
