Your Wounds Are Deep

A cycle of poems «Your Wounds Are Deep»

Dust settles on the battlefield inside
Where shattered dreams and broken hopes collide
You wear a smile, a mask of painted grace
But in your eyes, a haunted, hollow space

Your wounds are deep, I see the crimson stain
Invisible to them, yet etched in pain
You try to hide the scars beneath your sleeve
But I can feel the ache, the silent grieve

You build your walls so high, brick by lonely brick
Afraid to let anyone get close, lest they pick
At scabs that haven't healed, a raw exposed nerve
Living in the shadows, a life you don't deserve

Your wounds are deep, I see the crimson stain
Invisible to them, yet etched in pain
You try to hide the scars beneath your sleeve
But I can feel the ache, the silent grieve

Don't push me away, don't turn a blind eye
Let me offer solace, beneath a caring sky
I won't judge your past, or minimize the sting
Just hold your hand and help you learn to sing
A new song of healing, a melody of strength
To rise above the darkness, and find your breath at length

Your wounds are deep, I see the crimson stain
Invisible to them, yet etched in pain
You try to hide the scars beneath your sleeve
But I can feel the ache, the silent grieve

But even in the darkness, a flicker can ignite
A spark of hope, a beacon burning bright
Let the healing start, embrace the fragile dawn
Your wounds are deep, but you are not alone
Your wounds are deep, but you are not alone.
