Scatter My Ashes On the Hill

A cycle of poems «I Trust Tempered Steel»

The wind whispers stories of a life well-spent
Beneath the sky, a canvas heaven-sent
I've walked these hills, felt the sun upon my face
And found my peace in this forgotten, wild place

When my time is done, and I can't wander free
Scatter my ashes on the hill, for all eternity
Let the wildflowers bloom, where my spirit takes flight
A part of this landscape, bathed in golden light

I've seen the seasons change, the green to golden brown
Felt the icy grip of winter, holding everything down
But spring always returns, a promise in the air
Like hope that lingers, even in despair

When my time is done, and I can't wander free
Scatter my ashes on the hill, for all eternity
Let the wildflowers bloom, where my spirit takes flight
A part of this landscape, bathed in golden light

Don't weep for me, don't mourn my fading breath
Just remember the moments, conquered and faced death
With open arms, and a grateful heart so true
This hill holds the secrets, whispered just for you

When my time is done, and I can't wander free
Scatter my ashes on the hill, for all eternity
Let the wildflowers bloom, where my spirit takes flight
A part of this landscape, bathed in golden light

So stand upon this hill, and feel the gentle breeze
And know that I am with you, rustling through the trees
Forever in this place, where my heart belongs
Echoing in the wind, a never-ending song.
Scatter me gently, upon this hallowed ground.
My spirit's here forever, without a single sound.
